THE COSTUME INSTITUTE

A collection of concepts for speculative exhibits at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum in New York City.

This speculative project considers a season of retrospectives on the performing arts - Shakespearean productions, ballet and film, specifically the work of Oscar-winning costume designer Edith Head. I designed 2 separate promotional pieces to convey the scope and range of Ms. Head’s work between 1940 and 1960. Design and concept focused on each pieces potential to be incorporated in both print and web campaigns and its poster-sale viability, while retaining the cohesive creative unity necessary for season-long campaigns.

draw-a-thon theater

PRINT

Draw-a-thon Theater is a collective of artists, musicians, performers and art models who collaborate using improv, hand crafted props and live music. The first event drew over 150 artists and was instantly a success.

I made these two alternate designs for a 4” x 6” glossy card. Work on this project included image editing and copy, in collaboration with Draw-a-thon Theater’s director, artist Michael Alan.

To express a strong, memorable brand or identity creatively requires that copy and art merge seamlessly. I've worked with clients, designers and programmers to develop and rebrand numerous identities in a variety of markets. My own identity work includes Pretty with Pink, Family Finance, and Money Minerva (currently in-development).

rose + thorn

IDENTITY

Rose + Thorn is a speculative, pro-biotics luxury beauty brand, which provides high-quality, botanical-based products, attractive to both professional makeup artists and retail consumers. Identity and design elements were inspired by the glamourous icons of film noir and late ‘60s French cinema, as well as cult horror flick The Wicker Man (1973).

Episode 6 is an application development studio currently specializing in software for the Android mobile platform. There are currently five Episode 6 apps available on the Android Market.

I redesigned the original site and logo to establish a stronger, more specific brand and creative identity.

pretty with pink

WEB

Pretty With Pink was a diet, fashion and lifestyle blog for women ages 18-25. Originally titled In the Pink it was used as a viral marketing and user retention tool for the Pink Patch. I took over the blog in 2008, I overhauled the design and narrative tone, retitling it Pretty with Pink. Weekly posts included practical weight loss advice, recipes, snack ideas and exercise tips. Work on this project included design, writing and development.

Lynn Brenner's Family Finance is the personal finance Q & A blog of award-winning journalist and author Lynn Brenner. Originally a nationally syndicated column, Family Finance made the transition to blog earlier this year. I worked closely with the author to reestablish and develop Family Finance on the web.

This project included identity, design and site maintenance.
